13.1 Candidates will be able to help students use technology tools to collaborate with others inside and outside the classroom.
My group and I created a website based on a telecollaborative lesson. Students use Skype to collaborate with other students globally. The students work with classmates inside the classroom and then other students outside the classroom. Students would work together to learn about what makes themselves and others unique. Together they can video chat to build a relationship and discuss their culture. As a team they create their own game. Video chat is beneficial for the students because they can visually see what their partner is looking at and give feedback right away. Telecollaborative Project
13.2 Candidates will understand technological tools for collaboration with colleagues and demonstrate the disposition to use technological tools for collaboration in appropriate ways.
I created a flipchart that describes how to create and use Youtube as a technology tool. There were images and text that demonstrate how to create a video and what tools they have to edit your video. My colleagues could use this as a tool to learn how to use it for teaching and student projects. This was beneficial because I was able to learn what tools were available to create educational videos for students. Also, my colleagues and I collaborated to identify appropriate ways to use Youtube as a teaching tool.
