16.1 Candidates will be able to actively engage in professional learning networks (PLN) to collaborate and share ideas and resources with colleagues.
I learned what a professional learning network was and how to establish one for myself. I created a PLN website that describes what it is, how to get started, how to connect, my PLN example, and a PLN at my school. I connected with educators on Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, and Teacher Pay Teachers. I find ideas that are beneficial for the students and our classroom. I still actively use my PLN to connect with other teachers or find new ideas. If I find something that is reasonable for our school, I share it with my colleagues or on my PLN network. I learned that I love using Facebook and Teachers Pay Teachers as a network to find resources. PLN Website
16.2 Candidates will be able to determine and implement the best approaches to improving their technology integration efforts through a continual process of self-evaluation and reflection.
I determined that implementing Skype at the moment would not be the best approach to improving technology integration since we are all using Google Hangouts. I decided that I would use Aww App as a new approach that would be beneficial for teachers. Teachers would have access to an interactive whiteboard that they could use with their students for remote-learning. Throughout my internship, I reflected on ways to help spread this information and guide teachers on how to use the tools on the website.
